I absolutely adore this place! I was recommended the Knotty Pine when I was told about their very inexpensive breakfast special. I didn't know what to expect for $5 but I was very impressed. The atmosphere is very quiet (partially due to the carpeted floor) and cozy. I love it! The background music is gentle and not blaring. The waitresses have been very polite, friendly and efficient! The breakfasts are probably typical breakfast fare, but it's been quick, hot, and they've had my order bang on every time! My friend and I finally got around to having a dinner instead of breakfast last week, and we were not disappointed! Perhaps small portions on the vegetables, but not on the meet or potato! The hot turkey sandwich was piled high! :) And might I add... the coffee is excellent. Any time I'm at White Oaks I'm tempted to pop in, and I'm sure I'll be making many more trips in the future! I have been to Kawa several times since moving to the area and have also ordered takeout from kawa and it has been nothing but delicious. The restaurant is super cute, it almost feels like you are eating in your own kitchen, The wait staff are super friendly, helpful and quick. My take-out experiences have been jsut as wonderful and the food is ALWAYS fresh. I will never go to another sushi restaurant other than kawa, it's that amazing. When I was told we were going here for dinner I was no amused. Boring bad bar food is all I could think of but biy was I surprised. We visited on a Friday night and were greeted by an extra happy gent who showed us to a nice comfy booth. Our waitress was equally as cheery -- like REALLY cheery. She told us the specials, filled up our cups without asking and was super fast on her feet. The fish and chips were outstanding. The 2 fish portions were huge and not too battery, the fries were just okay. The steak was cooked perfectly. I got the mushroom salad with grilled chicken and was blown away by the taste and size -- salads usually disappoint. VERY happy and probably will return. Lire plus

I highly recommend Kipps Lane Fish n Chips! I was hard pressed to find a classic fish n chip joint such as I had adored as a teen in Toronto in the mid 1970s.
