Went for my sons birthday, there was 7 of us - luckily they were able to seat us pretty fast (15 minutes) considering we had no reservation on a saturday night. Got the big momma, SO GOOD! food came surprisingly fast, my husband and I ordered the all you can eat ribs, our waitress refilled our ribs before we were even finished so they came out at the same time as we finished, all of our meals were delicious and then they 'birthday train' came and my son LOVED IT, the horns, the song, everything! Well, here's a place that does a great fish and chips even though it's not their specialty, the kind of place I have been searching for since, well, a long time ago. The chips are excellent too, definitely cut and fried on the premises, no frozen stuff here. The waitress was quick to warn us that due to a large private function upstairs the service was going to be a bit slow, she was correct but we won't hold that against them. The food here is your standard family diner fare in terms of quality, nothing special, but the selection is quite varied, Greek food, Italian, English/North American, basic burgers, I can't see anyone going here and not being able to find something they like. But above all is the location, right beside the falls. Sure, when eating on the deck it makes whispered conversation a wee bit difficult, but it's a good noise that's relaxing rather than annoying. After knowing the great experience in Toronto at Wildfire we are so glad that Oshawa has opened this upscale steakhouse. There is no other place to go for a 1st class meal in Durham and we recently celebrated my fathers 90th in their party room. Yep, its really that great! This is one of those staples in Lindsay, right on the main street, kinda small and understated; but once you've eaten here you will always come back. Jane's menu is simple, and enjoyable. Everything is always great, service included. They are very accommodating, and fairly priced. Others have complained about the decor, but I think it adds to the "Kountry Kitchen" charm. Also, anywhere that does an "all day breakfast" is good with me Lire plus
